The book from which all of the prints such as 'Cola Skin, Tortoishell Sea' and 'Back In The Water' were originally from, called The Myth Of Nuliajuk, is now available in hardbound copies to buy. I made The Myth Of Nuliajuk for my degree show in 2006, the book illustrates the telling of an Inuit (eskimo) creation myth featuring a sacrificed girl thrown into the sea to drown by her parents. 66 b/w laserjet pages hardbound (black cover) £40

Chromatography

0 min read
Chromatography is the chemical process of separating solutions or suspensions such as ink into pure elements or pigments using a liquid (such as water). Chromatography creates beautiful images. I think it's when the container of water evaporates, from below a vertically held strip of ink (or ink image), the pigment is carried up and separated according to how heavy each pigment is. E.g. yellow would be lighter than blue, so the yellow pigment would spread higher.

Mother's Day

0 min read
Pram and Pony was a print I made for the mother's day card I'm gonna give to my ma. She probably won't get what it's about.  Hopefully she'll at least think it's a pretty picture (my art lecturer once said it's better to confuse your viewer than bore them). N.B. To me the image came from the idea of the life cycle and water-love-emotion from birth to death.
